Bobby Pucel Represents OD

This entry was posted in News on by .

We are proud to announce Bobby Pucel as OD’s representative for this year’s Leadership Starke County class. This is a great opportunity for students to meet several leaders in a variety of industries in Starke County and participate in activities to further develop leadership skills.
The class meets once a month around the county to discuss a wide range of topics. Our OD students in the past have always found this program to be highly beneficial. Good luck and thank you, Bobby.

Blood Drive

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, OD hosted the first blood drive of the year. The American Red Cross was here and our turnout was solid, collecting from 30 people. This is a fantastic start to our goal of collecting 150 or more pints. If we meet our goal, we can hand out two $500 scholarships. Of course, the more we collect, the more we earn—up to a total of $2,500!

The next blood drive is Nov. 3, 2015, so come on out and donate blood to save a life and help OD students.

The S.W.A.G. (Students Who Achieve Greatness) group will be responsible for this year’s Pennies for Patients campaign in the building, and they also have received a wonderful opportunity to do some yard work for a local elderly gentleman. We are proud that STUDENTS are taking an initiative in interacting with our community—one of the tenets of our Vision Statement.
